Feature: Alyson Fox's Etsy Store. Since I'm not really one to offer canned gifts under $ ___ and really enjoy giving personal gifts to individual people, I can't contribute much to the holiday spirit of shopping for your loved ones. Since I've been back in Austin for the holidays, I did recently stumble upon these reasonably (or perhaps crazy inexpensive) prints by beloved local artist Alyson Fox. She just recently opened up her own Etsy store so you should snag these prints before they're gone! Images courtesy of Alysonfox.

Feature: Whyred Bootie. I've been debating for some time now about whether I should share my purchases / real life with my readers. While I don't intend for this blog to be a "daily wardrobe" blog, I think I'm going to start adding more personal elements to it. Although I've been trying to keep my purchases to a minimum as a graduate student, I won't deny that I love to collect clothes, especially shoes. Although I'm sure these are less than interesting to most of you, I just ordered from Bird what I consider the perfect boot for everyday wear in all the elements. While I have been donning four inch heels on my 20 minute walk to Penn's campus everyday, I think it's finally time for me to face the fact that it rains and snows here. I particularly love the slight wedge heel and structural element to the boot and as I've also learned recently, investing in a quality boot is never a bad idea on the east coast.

Feature: Krooples. Despite the funny name, Krooples is a new label that carries amazingly perfect basics. They make that one basic that you've been looking for but could never find the one that was just right. You know what I'm talking about. Kind of like APC but a little bit more edgy rather than prep. They seem to add the right detailing and cuts on the collars, materials and fit. For example, the 3/4 length trench -- a perfect classic trench -- that you see in magazines and on other people, but could never locate for yourself. Well, now you know where you can get it from Krooples, an offshoot of Comptoir des Cotonniers. Since I'm American, I think it should be pretty hard to find but I think there is some comfort just know that Krooples exists for the next time I'm in France... although I'm not sure when that time will be. Feature: LD Tuttle. I love the industrial but luxe look of these shoes and boots. Designed by Tiffany Tuttle, these shoes exude a practicality with perfect detailing that immediately make them stand out. I'm digging the thick heels, cut outs, and biker detailing on the flat boots. I've seen them at Oak, Creatures of Comfort and a few other of my favorite boutiques. Surely, LD Tuttle is going to blow up as they've already recently collaborated with Erin Wasson's new line. I can't get enough of these shoes, now if only I could try some on sometime soon. Images courtesy of ldtuttle.com/shoes
